ALEX

In the village of Tzampetey lives a little boy named Alex. He is seven years old and suffers from a severe case of epilepsy due to a traumatic birth and an operation that he received when he was just a baby. When I met him in May, he was having around 8 seizures a day, and with triggers like sudden, loud noises, his parents were often afraid to let him leave their side. They wanted nothing more than for their son to be able to do things just like every other child: play with his brother and sister, go to school, speak, read, and write. These things, however, didn’t come easily to Alex, due to the severity of his condition.

After months of prayer, therapy, and searching for the right medication and dosage, we have seen God work and make a HUGE impact in Alex’s life! After encountering a medication that seemed suitable for his case, he began having fewer seizures every day and became much more alert and active. As he was making such great improvements, his parents thought it might be time to think, for the first time, about sending him to school.

Just as enrollment time began to come around, the House of Healing mission encountered a sponsor to give Alex a scholarship to school. One day, as I arrived at the family’s home to give them the good news, I found Alex’s mother, Dora, with an excited expression on her face as she ran to greet me and to tell me that in a whole week he hadn’t had even one seizure! I was overjoyed at all of the blessings that I was witnessing! God’s hand is at work in this boy’s life and I know He is not finished yet!

Please continue to pray for Alex and his family as he continues to improve and as the school year begins in January. Pray that the Lord would give the family the faith to give Alex the strength that he needs to continue improving and to work hard in school.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
