February Blessings
at the House of Healing
Presented
by
Julie, Discovery Intern
Throughout the month of February we were overwhelmed with blessings and saw the Lord work in so many ways through the House of Healing Foundation. Here are a few examples:
A team from Bethel Baptist Church in New Caney, Texas came to work in the village of Agua Escondida. The team blessed two families with a new home and the village school with a new kitchen, all the while building relationships that will last a lifetime with families, teachers, administrators of the school, and members of the community.
Missionaries Jane and Joe Bartel came to stay for a week while working with their mission, Evelyn’s Baskets of Love and Life, to bless the families in the area who have babies born with cleft lip and palate.
The Hudak couple stayed the entire month of February while working with friend and fellow missionary Katie Wallyn. They enjoyed their experiences so much that they’ve extended their stay into the month of March!
Our dear friend and House of Healing daytime administrator, Norma, had a beautiful, healthy baby boy on Friday, February 10.
On February 22, therapist Amy Trottier along with a friend and fellow therapist came to spend several hours of physical therapy with Edy (guardian Gregorio’s grandson with special needs) and Alex (a little boy from the village of Tzampetey with special needs). Flori, our clinic nurse, Julie, our Discovery intern, and the moms of the two boys also participated so they could learn from the therapists and continue using their methods in the future. It was a great day with many new things learned and tasks accomplished.
Work began on the water filtration system at the Mundo Extendido Iglesia here in San Lucas that Faith Community Church in Novi, Michigan is coordinating. This will help provide pure water to the community. It is wonderful to see partnerships like these develop! More on this project to come in the near future.
A final word from Missionary Teri:
It is such a blessing to work with so many different groups of people who have a vision for helping others. It helps expand our vision of what the Body of Christ can do as we learn to work together and let God work through us. It is helping to bring the unity that Jesus talks about in John 17.
